A Sneak Peak At 2010 Recruit Chris Adcock

It's never too early to take a look at the 2010 recruiting class. Last week, offensive tackle Chris Adcock (Dallas Christian) took an unofficial visit to TCU during the Stephen F. Austin game and walked away very impressed. "I thought it was great. The facilities were great, I got to go to the locker room after the game, it was all-great," stated Adcock to BigPurpleNation.com.

"I was greeted by a few players and shook hands with some of the offensive coaches."

Adcock might not of been able to attend a better game to watch the offense line. TCU's front dominated the SFA d-line, pounding the ball up the middle from the second quarter on. "I thought it was a great game. I thought it was great for them to come out and take care of business against a weaker team…..I really like their scheme. They seem really committed to running the ball," said the offensive tackle.

Currently the junior, who has started for the Dallas Christian Chargers since his freshman year, is receiving interest from Kansas and TCU. He will try to make another unofficial visit this weekend for the Stanford game, and is working out a game to visit for a Kansas trip. Currently he does not have a list of favorite schools, but did indicate that he could see himself as a Frog someday.

Last year, Adcock (6'3, 281 pounds) was the only sophomore to make the 1st All TAPPS Division II District II team. Dallas Christian finished the year with a 12-3 record making a trip to the State Finals. Adcock was voted his team's offensive line MVP and earned Honorable Mention All-State honors. Max Preps rated the Chargers offense the 25th best in the nation.

This season, Dallas Christian is only thinking about the championship after getting so close in 2007. The 2010 recruit's team is off to a good start with a 1-0 record after beating Trinity Valley 42-21 in their season opener. His team is currently ranked #1 in TAPPS, and #54 out of 1300 Texas High Schools by MaxPreps.

Adcock had a very busy summer. Besides for taking unofficial visits to Colorado and Colorado State, he also participated in many combines and camps including TCU's. In May, at the Nike camp in Houston, Adcock had a SPARQ score of 62.28 and was rated the 36th 0-lineman in the nation out of 892.

Adcock also participated in the 07-08 National Underclassmen Ultimate 100 Invitational Combine in Los Angeles earlier this year and made the O-line final five showcase.

Currently the offensive tackle benches 315 pounds and squats 495. His best forty-time was at the NUC combine when he posted a 4.92.

In addition to football, Adcock plays basketball, baseball, and track. On the diamond he was voted the JV team MVP and in track he throws the shot put.

Adcock would like to major in Pre-Med or engineering in college. Currently he has a 4.0 GPA and is part of the National Honor Society. His hobbies include: fishing, hunting, golfing, snowboarding, paintball, reading, and doing flips off diving boards
