"That is not true. TCU is one of the schools that he had Florida send his transcripts to, but he has yet to decide on where he is going, " stated Lucas' mom to BigPurpleNation.com on Thursday.
Lucas' decision could be coming sooner than later. He will be back in Texas over Thanksgiving break and will talk with his immediate family about his choices.
"There is no timetable for a decision, but I think we will talk about it next week when he is home for the holidays," said Lucas' mom.
A few weeks ago the sophomore announced he would be transferring from Florida after the fall semester. Lucas, who started every game for the Gators last season, averaged 8.5 ppg. as a freshman.
An All-American high school point guard at Bellaire Texas, Lucas was Scout.com's 7th rated point guard in the 2007 recruiting class. In high school, he averaged over 26 points a game with 6 assists and chose Florida over offers from Kentucky, Maryland, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State.
Lucas' father is no stranger to the basketball court as well. John Lucas played 14 seasons in the NBA, averaging 10.7 points a game for 6 different NBA clubs.
Lucas, once eligible, could make an immediate impact for Coach Christian's Frogs. TCU fans are excited about the possibility of having Kavon Rose, Ronnie Moss, and Jai Lucas down the road splitting time at guard position. BigPurpleNation.com will have more on Lucas' decision in the weeks to follow.
