The Rumors Continue, Patterson And Clemson?

Gary Patterson is one of the best college football coaches in the nation. When a coach is a hot commodity, there is always going to be rumors about other job openings. The latest reports are saying Patterson met with Clemson AD Terry Phillips yesterday in Fort Worth. Are the rumors true? Read what BigPurpleNation.com TCU sources are saying.

According to BigPurpleNation.com sources, Coach Gary Patterson has not interviewed with Clemson AD Terry Phillips. Sources are telling BigPurpleNation.com that the reportings are false.

Earlier today Patterson told Fort Worth Star Telegram TCU Beat Writer Mercedes Mayer, "I'm just telling you they're doing the same thing Kansas State did." Patterson attended the TCU women's basketball game last night and is planning on spending time with his younger sons for thanksgiving. The Horned Frog football team has the week off for the holidays.

CUTigers.com wrote an article earlier today stating that an interview between Clemson and Patterson took place in the Ft. Worth area yesterday.

Clemson has reportedly already interviewed Oklahoma defensive coordinator Brent Venables, Virginia Tech defensive coordinator Bud Foster, former Oakland Raiders head coach Lane Kiffin and Illinois offensive coordinator Mike Locksley.

This is not the first time rumors have been swirling around Coach Patterson. Last month it was reported by GoPowercat.com, that Patterson was the lead candidate to take over at Kansas State. This week the Wildcats hired former coach Bill Snyder.
