With the victory the Frogs improved their overall record to 4-3 and 3-1 at the Daniel-Meyer Coliseum while the Cavaliers dropped to 0-7 on the 2008-09 campaign.
The Frogs jumped out early on the Cavaliers as they scored the first 13 points of the game and held a double-digit lead for the majority of the first half. The Frogs claimed their biggest lead of the first half at 21 points following a three-pointer by Ronnie Moss (Fort Worth, Texas | Christian Life Academy) to give TCU a 30-9 advantage with 5:23 remaining before intermission.
In the second half the Frogs continued to pile on the points as TCU increased its lead to 39 points at 74-35 following a three-pointer by Kavon Rose (Detroit, Mich. | Finney H.S.) with 3:37 remaining in the game. The Frogs outscored the Cavaliers by a 46-22 margin in the second half of action which was their biggest offensive output of a half this season.
Zvonko Buljan (Split, Croatia | Vincennes University) led the Frogs with 16 points on 7-of-8 shooting to go along with five rebounds in 17 minutes of action while Jason Ebie (Houston, Texas | Alief Elsik H.S.) had a stellar game at the point guard position with a career-high nine assists to go along with six points and six rebounds.
Kevin Butler (Duncanville, Texas | Duncanville H.S.) notched nine points and six rebounds in 19 minutes of action while Edvinas Ruzgas (Vilnius, Lithuania | Weatherford College) collected nine points on 4-of-5 shooting in 16 minutes of court time.
The Frogs connected on 53.8 percent (35-of-65) of their field goal attempts and 50.0 percent (7-of-14) of their three-point field goal tries while holding St. Gregory¹s to 35.0 percent (14-of-40) shooting from the field.
The Frogs dished out a season-high 21 assists and collected 10 steals in the game while forcing St. Gregory¹s to commit 25 turnovers in the contest.
The Frogs will be back in action on Wednesday (Dec. 3) when the Purple and White travels to Boulder, Colo., for a match-up against Colorado. Tip is slated for 8:00 p.m. Central Time.
