Owls Add Argentine Guard Carvalho

Perimeter threat will join Coach Fran Dunphy's squad this season

First came Pepe Sanchez. Then Juan Fernandez. Now it's Ayan Nunez Carvalho's turn.

The Temple men's basketball team is adding another Argentine star to its backcourt, Carvalho confirmed via Twitter Friday night -- confirming the news first reported by OwlsDaily on Friday afternoon.

Carvalho is a 6-4 shooting guard who played for Argentina's entry in the 2014 FIBA Under-17 World Championships. He was born in Brazil, but moved to Argentina at a young age.

Carvalho visited Temple this summer and is set to begin classes when the fall semester starts on August 24 -- which means he will suit up for the Owls this season.
