Levan Shawn Alston Talks About His Temple Debut

Freshman guard scored 12 points in Temple's 91-67 loss to North Carolina

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Levan Shawn Alston certainly drew North Carolina's attention when he took down 6-10, 230-pound Brice Johnson in the final minute of Temple's 91-67 loss to the Tar Heels on Friday night.  Johnson swung his leg into Alston's shoulder and ear after a putback dunk -- prompting the Owls' 170-pound freshman to pull out his best WWE takedown and send Johnson to the floor.

Tempers flared and the son of former Temple guard Levan Alston drew a technical foul.

All that might have overshadowed the younger Alston's debut, except that he was pretty good before then.  Alston shot 5 of 7 from the field, including 2 of 4 from three-point range, to score 12 points in just 15 minutes of action.
