Quenton DeCosey and Devin Coleman talk after Temple beats East Carolina Saturday

The Owls used a 21-4 run in the second half to pull away from the Pirates and win for the third time in four conference games.

Quenton DeCosey scored 24 points and Devin Coleman hit five three-pointers, none biggger than a buzzer-beater in transition at the end of the first half, as Temple won its second straight, 78-60, over East Carolina.

DeCosey also hit five three-pointers as the Owls were 13-of-33 overall from beyond the arc.

Temple trailed by eight late in the first half when it made a defensive stop in the closing seconds and Jaylen Bond (12 rebounds) found Coleman wide open for a three-pointer that made it a 38-33 game at the half. The Owls carried the momentum into the second half as they out-scored the Pirates, 45-22.

The Owls, who beat their second Top 25 team of the season by winning at Connecticut Tuesday, are now 8-6 on the season and 3-1 in the American Athletic Confernece.
