Temple advances to AAC semifinals with 79-62 win over USF

Jaylen Bond led the Owls with 17 points, eight rebounds, four steals, and three assists

ORLANDO, Fla. -- After surrendering the first basket, Temple used an early 13-2 run to take control of its American Athletic Conference quarterfinal game against USF on Friday afternoon.  The Owls had five players score in double figures and four players record multiple assists in their 79-62 win over the Bulls.

Jaylen Bond led the way with 17 points and eight rebounds, while Quenton DeCosey had 14 points and eight rebounds and Obi Enechionyia (13), Mark Williams (11), and Devin Coleman (10) also provided some scoring output.  Josh Brown piloted the balanced effort with eight points and seven rebounds, while also forcing USF's top scorer, Jahmal McMurray, into a 6 for 18 shooting performance.

Temple will play UConn in the AAC semifinals on Saturday afternoon.  UConn advanced with a four-overtime win over Cincinnati on Friday.
