Sean Chandler returns from knee injury to lift Temple

The junior safety missed four games but his return boosted Temple in a 34-13 win over Cincinnati.

When Temple's defensive leader Sean "Champ" Chandler suffered a knee injury in practice prior to the conference opener against Southern Methodist, there was some concern he might be lost for the season.

Chandler admitted he thought the freak injury suffered in practice was a torn knee ligament. But when an MRI revealed just a bruise he worked to return to the lineup as soon as possible.

After four games on the sidelines, Chandler rejoined the lineup at safety Saturday, splitting time with Nate L. Smith. The Owls played arguably their best defense of the season in Chandler's return.

After the 34-13 win over Cincinnati, Chandler talked about working his way back and playing again and how he feels he'll continue to make strides going forward. Watch the video of Chandler's post-game interview.
