Fran Dunphy Temple-La Salle Postgame

The Owls opened the season with a 97-92 overtime win over La Salle

Watch Coach Fran Dunphy's postgame press conference following Temple's 97-92 overtime victory over La Salle on Friday night at The Liacouras Center.  Daniel Dingle had 21 points and five assists and Obi Enechionyia totaled 20 points and 14 rebounds in the contest.  Shizz Alston had 14 points, six rebounds, six assists, and three steals, while Ernest Aflakpui had 12 points and 10 rebounds and Quinton Rose scored 12 points.

The Owls led most of the way before watching a 77-68 lead slip away in the last two-plus minutes of regulation.  La Salle sent the game to overtime when Jordan Price hit a deep three-pointer with five seconds to go.  But the Cherry and White regained control in the extra period, and Alston and Alani Moore clinched the victory with four free throws in the last five seconds.

Josh Brown and Isaiah Lewis did not dress for the Owls -- Brown still sidelined by an offseason achilles injury, while Lewis injured his ankle in practice this week.  Lewis was cleared to play by the NCAA on Friday.

Temple will host New Hampshire on Monday night.
