Temple senior offensive tackle is ready for Senior Day against East Carolina

Along with the rest of the senior Owls', the senior tackle will play his last home game of his career against East Carolina.

Dion Dawkins was one of the first true freshman in 2013 to make an impact for the Owls, playing in the first five games and starting two before a broken foot ended his season,

He was back in the starting lineup the next year as a sophomore, helping Temple gain bowl eligibility, and last year when a 7-0 start earned the Owls a national ranking. He has protected quarterback Phillip Walker's blind side for most of the last three seasons as the Owls have become one of the American Athletic Conference's elite teams.

On Saturday night, Dawkins will play at Lincoln Financial Field for the final time as an Owl along with Walker and his fellow seniors. The game has more meaning than for sentimental reasons as a win would send Temple to the American Athletic Conference championship game for the second straight year.

Listen to Dawkins' thoughts on the game and the emotions he expects will be there on Saturday night in the above video.
