The quarterback was wearing a boot after practice on Tuesday

Coach Matt Rhule called the senior "questionable" for Saturday's game.

The walking boot Temple senior quarterback Phillip Walker was wearing following Tuesday's practice for Saturday's American Athletic Conference championship game at Navy was cause for alarm.

So were the words of coach Matt Rhule, who said Walker wouldn't be able to play if the game was Tuesday and called his senior four-year starter questionable for the contest.

But Walker insisted he would be ready and that he took the boot off to take limited practice reps Tuesday. He expected he would continue to increase his practice time while receiving treatment on an injured ankle he suffered during Saturday's win against East Carolina.

Walker stayed in the game against East Carolina despite the injury. He didn't anticipate missing Saturday's game against Navy.

Frank Nutile would likely take Walker's place if he couldn't go. Listen to Walker talk about the injury, his recovery and the game against Navy in the above video interview.
