IT picks the SEC

The SEC isn't wasting a lot of time before starting conference play this season. Three intra-league matchups are on the Week 2 schedule.

Mississippi State hosts Auburn on Thursday night, South Carolina hosts Georgia Saturday at noon and Vanderbilt hosts LSU Saturday night.

InsideTennessee's crack panel of experts enjoyed varying degrees of success in their Week 1 picks. Dave Hooker, Chris Price and yours truly went 11-1 each, missing only on Ole Miss' loss to Jacksonville State. Publisher Josh Woodward went 9-3 and James Bryant 7-5.

That said, here are the Week 2 picks:

Randy Moore (11-1)

AUBURN AT MISS. STATE (THURSDAY NIGHT): A fun meeting of two great offensive minds, Gus Malzahn vs. Dan Mullen. Auburn, 34-31

PENN STATE AT ALABAMA: Nick Saban is today. Joe Paterno is yesterday. Bama, 27-14

LA. MONROE VS. ARKANSAS (LITTLE ROCK): Hogs have another big game, 49-10

SOUTH FLORIDA AT FLORIDA: Can the Gators execute a shotgun snap this week? Florida 27-17

GEORGIA AT SOUTH CAROLINA: Now we find out which team is for real. Carolina, 24-20

WESTERN KENTUCKY AT KENTUCKY: Joker Phillips remains undefeated. Cats, 38-14

OLE MISS AT TULANE: Rebels won't squander big lead this time. Ole Miss, 38-17

LSU AT VANDERBILT: Robbie Caldwell remains winless. LSU, 41-14

OREGON AT TENNESSEE: It's called the home-field advantage. Vols, 31-28.

James Bryant (7-5)

AUBURN AT MISS. STATE (THURSDAY NIGHT): I have to go with Auburn with this one, but if MSU is for real it could be a barn burner. Auburn, 42-38

PENN STATE AT ALABAMA: This should be a true defensive battle, 24-21 Alabama

LA. MONROE VS. ARKANSAS (LITTLE ROCK): Another Ryan Mallett blowout, 56-14

SOUTH FLORIDA AT FLORIDA: This could be the upset of the week. Common sense tells you don't pick against the Gators, 28-24

GEORGIA AT SOUTH CAROLINA: This truly could be the game of the week. South Carolina, 31-24

WESTERN KENTUCKY AT KENTUCKY: Kentucky is still Kentucky in this one. Wildcats, 48-21

OLE MISS AT TULANE: Wow! Houston Nutt better win this one. If not, it could be a long year in Oxford. Rebels, 49-28

LSU AT VANDERBILT: Les can you spell Timex? Tigers roll, 41-17

OREGON AT TENNESSEE: This is another tough one. My heart says one thing, My brain says another. I hate it when they aren't both on the same page. Tennessee 21, Oregon 20

Dave Hooker (11-1)

AUBURN AT MISS. STATE (THURSDAY NIGHT): The Tigers could be on the verge of a special season. They won't slip up on this one. 30-13

PENN STATE AT ALABAMA: No Mark Ingram? No problem. Tide, 23-13

SOUTH FLORIDA AT FLORIDA: Florida will look better this week, but will still miss Superman. 45-20

GEORGIA AT SOUTH CAROLINA: South Carolina has been pointing to this one. And the Steve Spurrier Gamecocks looked more mature than ever last week. 20-17

WESTERN KENTUCKY AT KENTUCKY: Kentucky wins the state title. That won't mean much in the SEC. 30-20

OLE MISS AT TULANE: Surely, the Rebels will bounce back. Surely. Ok, maybe. Ole Miss 20-13

LSU AT VANDERBILT: Les Miles will lose some big games this fall, but not this one. 34-9

OREGON AT TENNESSEE: Rebuilding Vols can't match Oregon's speed on either side of the ball. 35-20.

Josh Woodward (9-3)

AUBURN AT MISS. STATE (THURSDAY NIGHT): Bulldogs pull the upset at home, 32-30

PENN STATE AT ALABAMA: Tide marches on and Joe Pa returns home, 38-23

LA. MONROE VS. ARKANSAS (LITTLE ROCK): Should be another cakewalk for the Hogs, 48-23.

SOUTH FLORIDA AT FLORIDA: Gators, 33-17. How many botched snaps this game?

GEORGIA AT SOUTH CAROLINA: It's still the same ol' South Carolina. Georgia, 23-21.

WESTERN KENTUCKY AT KENTUCKY: Wildcats in cruise control, 35-10.

OLE MISS AT TULANE: Ole Miss bounces back from the worst loss in school history, 30-23.

LSU AT VANDERBILT: 38-14 Tigers over the Commodores.

OREGON AT TENNESSEE: 33-28 Vols in a shocker. The 12th man prevails.

Chris Price (11-1)

AUBURN AT MISS. STATE (THURSDAY NIGHT): Auburn will squeak by Mullen's squad in a very close game. Tigers over the Dogs, 24-20.

PENN STATE AT ALABAMA: The Tide fans make a difference in this game against a new quarterback. Tide Rolls, 33-14.

LA. MONROE VS. ARKANSAS (LITTLE ROCK): I thought these games were over last week. Arkansas, 45-17.

SOUTH FLORIDA AT FLORIDA: Florida will correct whatever it was we saw last week. Gators take care of business, 33-6.

GEORGIA AT SOUTH CAROLINA: Spurrier puts Stephen Garcia on the bench for the majority of this one and lets Connor Shaw go get him a win. Gamecocks, 24-17.

WESTERN KENTUCKY AT KENTUCKY: Kentucky in a barn burner. Joker Phillip is still undefeated. Cats, 45-6.

OLE MISS AT TULANE: Rebels will bounce back after being completely embarrassed in week one. Rebels win, 38-9.

LSU AT VANDERBILT: Sorry, Robbie. This job isn't all it's cracked up to be. Tigers get all over Vandy, 48-13.

OREGON AT TENNESSEE: I am 11-1 thus far and I am trying to keep a good record. These two teams match up better than most think. Check the offensive and defensive line numbers, but I still can't pick the Vols. Oregon's running back tandem will wear down the Tennessee defense late in the game. Ducks, 38-24.
