It appears that one SEC school has overtaken an ACC school for the lead for one Georgia safety.

Valdosta safety Geraldo Orta confirmed with InsideTennessee.com Tuesday night that he has a new leader for his services.

"Tennessee is my new number one," Orta said. "The Vols were my first offer. I decided about a week ago that they are my new number one."

It appears that the Vols coaching staff is a major reason that Orta put the Vols ahead of his former No. 1, Clemson.

"We talk all the time," Orta said. "Coach Russell and I talk all the time. I really like Coach Dooley a lot, also. He really wants to win now even though he may not have the talent to do so. I like my secondary coach Terry Joseph a lot, also. He makes me feel really comfortable."

Although Orta has yet to see Rocky Top, the talented Scout.com three-star safety plans on solving that issue soon.

"I'm hoping to go to a game in November and take an unofficial visit to Tennessee," Orta said. "I will most definitely take one of my official visits to Rocky Top."

Orta, a 6-foot, 182-pound defensive back, is being recruited by the Vols to play safety.

According to Orta, his current top five include Tennessee, Clemson, South Carolina, Louisville and Wake Forest.
