IT picks the SEC

A lot of folks thought top-ranked Alabama would be tested in last Saturday's game with Florida. Instead, the Tide rolled, 31-6. This week some folks think Bama will be tested by homestanding South Carolina.

Can the Gamecocks hold up any better at Williams-Brice Stadium than the Gators did at Bryant-Denny Stadium? That's the key question our pigskin panelists must answer with this week's picks.

Each of our panelists went 5-2 on last weekend's picks except for Dave Hooker, whose 4-3 mark dropped him into a first-place tie with Chris Price at 36-7 for the season.

That said, here are the Week 6 picks, plus the year-to-date records:

Randy Moore (34-9)

ALABAMA AT SOUTH CAROLINA: The Gamecocks are coming but the Tide is already there. Bama, 27-17

ARKANSAS VS. TEXAS A&M (ARLINGTON): Ho hum. Another 300-yard passing performance by Ryan Mallett. Hogs, 34-14

AUBURN AT KENTUCKY: Joker Phillips is looking for a signature win. This won't be it. Tigers, 31-20

LSU AT FLORIDA: The Tigers have more talent but "Les" coaching. Gators, 24-13

MISS. STATE AT HOUSTON: The Dogs must win their non-conference games to be bowl-eligible. Bulldogs, 27-20

ARKANSAS VS. TEXAS A&M (ARLINGTON): Here's why Texas A&M shouldn't have joined the SEC. Arkansas, 45-20

AUBURN AT KENTUCKY: Auburn is officially the second best team in the SEC. They'll show why again this week. Tigers, 30-13
