IT picks the SEC

The SEC's two most intriguing quarterbacks collide Saturday when Western Division title contenders Arkansas and Auburn meet on The Plains.

The Razorbacks (4-1) pin their hopes on rocket-armed Ryan Mallett; the unbeaten Tigers (6-0) counter with the mobile monster, Cam Newton.

Two other fascinating matchups grace an attractive Week 7 slate: South Carolina (4-1), fresh from an upset of top-ranked Alabama, must refocus against Kentucky (3-3) in Lexington, and former Gator offensive coordinator Dan Mullen takes his dangerous Mississippi State team (4-2) into Gainesville to face a Florida squad that has suffered back-to-back losses after a 4-0 start.

InsideTennessee's Dave Hooker and Chris Price went 5-2 on their Week 6 picks and remain tied for the season lead with 41-9 records. Josh Woodward and this writer went 4-3 last weekend, James Bryant 3-4.

That said, here are the Week 7 picks, plus the year-to-date records:

Randy Moore (38-12)

OLE MISS AT ALABAMA: This is the wrong week to be catching the Crimson Tide. Bama, 34-14

ARKANSAS AT AUBURN: I'm glad UT is off this week, so I'll get to watch part of this game. Auburn, 31-27

MISS. STATE AT FLORIDA: Dan Mullen has the Bulldogs playing well but the Gators don't lose often in The Swamp. Florida, 30-24

VANDERBILT AT GEORGIA: The Dawgs aren't as good as they looked against Tennessee last weekend. Still ... Georgia, 31-20

S. CAROLINA AT KENTUCKY: The Cocks will be flat after shocking Bama but UK can't stop Marcus Lattimore. Carolina, 27-20

McNEESE STATE AT LSU: Late-game clock management shouldn't be an issue for Les Miles in this one. LSU, 38-14

James Bryant (33-17)

OLE MISS AT ALABAMA: Rebels seem to play Alabama close, especially in T Town. Alabama, 28-24

ARKANSAS AT AUBURN: 41-38 Auburn in an offensive shootout

MISS. STATE AT FLORIDA: Could Mullen give Meyer his third loss in a row? Probably not. Florida, 31-17

VANDERBILT AT GEORGIA: Georgia should be back on track, 38-21 over Vandy

S. CAROLINA AT KENTUCKY: Kentucky is still Kentucky unless they beat South Carolina this week. Gamecocks, 41-31

McNEESE STATE AT LSU: LSU on a big run, 45-21 over the Cowboys

Dave Hooker (41-9)

OLE MISS AT ALABAMA: Alabama bounces back in a big way, 35-10

ARKANSAS AT AUBURN: This just in: Cameron Newton is a better college quarterback than Ryan Mallett. Auburn wins, 28-27

MISS. STATE AT FLORIDA: Another bounce back game, but this one will be a Florida victory, 24-23.

VANDERBILT AT GEORGIA: Bulldogs on a winning streak. Yipee. 30-13

S. CAROLINA AT KENTUCKY: South Carolina has tough wins. Kentucky doesn't. Gamecocks, 24-13

McNEESE STATE AT LSU: Even Les Miles can't mess this up. 40-9

Josh Woodward (36-14)

OLE MISS AT ALABAMA: Ole Miss' new black bear gets a black eye from Alabama. Tide, 48-17

ARKANSAS AT AUBURN: Cam Newton does it again. Auburn, 34-31

MISS. STATE AT FLORIDA: Mullen just doesn't have enough horses to beat Meyer. Florida, 28-24

VANDERBILT AT GEORGIA: As long as Georgia plays like it did against Tennessee, they'll slam the Dores. Georgia, 31-20

S. CAROLINA AT KENTUCKY: Can anyone stop Lattimore? South Carolina, 28-21

McNEESE STATE AT LSU: Lucky Les continues his streak. LSU, 42-13

Chris Price (41-9)

OLE MISS AT ALABAMA: Alabama is anxious for a win following last week's let down. Tide rolls, 24-9.

ARKANSAS AT AUBURN:Arkansas has the offense, but the Hogs don't have the defense to stop Newton and the Tigers. Auburn, 45-38.

MISS. STATE AT FLORIDA:If this game was amongst the cowbells I think I would pick State. Florida gets the win at home. Gators, 24-10.

VANDERBILT AT GEORGIA: Georgia is still motivated after the rough start. Surely they won't lose to Vandy. Right? Dogs, 33-13.

S. CAROLINA AT KENTUCKY:South Carolina won't let down even after the big win. They are dying to get to Atlanta. They sneak past the Wildcats 38-27.

McNEESE STATE AT LSU: Lucky Les might be able to win this one without having to use a timeout, which is always a plus. Tigers, 33-9.
