Growing up in Knoxville gives one recent Tennessee commitment a bit of an advantage, especially when it comes to attending ball games and knowing a little about the traditions of the Vols.
For Bearden athlete Devrin Young going to Neyland Stadium for a ball game isn't a new experience, but even for someone who has been a lot, Saturday's game with archrival Alabama still left an impression.
"It was a typical SEC game," Young told InsideTennessee.com. "We love our football at Tennessee and it shows. What a great atmosphere, the place was rocking."
Young got the chance to visit with Jim Chaney and a few of the UT coaches.
"They were glad to see me, they were glad I was there," Young said. "There were a lot of recruits there that's for sure."
Young realizes that UT is in a rebuilding process, but was impressed with how the Vols played early.
"It was a good game especially early," Young said. "The game was a lot better than the score indicated, anyone that knows anything about football realizes this."
Young can't wait to be out there representing the University of Tennessee.
"I'm ready for my time out there on the field," Young said. "This class is going to make a big difference in helping get things turned around."
While Young is anxious to get on the field for the Vols, he will not graduate early and will enroll at Tennessee next summer.
