IT picks the SEC

Only five games are on this weekend's SEC schedule but three of them project to be pretty interesting.

Unbeaten Auburn (8-0 overall, 5-0 SEC) visits an up-and-down Ole Miss team (3-4, 1-3). A struggling Florida squad (4-3, 2-3) faces resurgent Georgia (4-4, 3-3) in Jacksonville. Two of the SEC's most improved teams meet in Starkville, where Mississippi State (6-2, 2-2) hosts Kentucky (4-4, 1-4).

Each of InsideTennessee's picks panelists went 6-0 last week except for James Bryant, who missed on Georgia's defeat of Kentucky. Dave Hooker and Chris Price continue to share the season lead with 51-11 records.

Here are the Week 9 picks, plus the year-to-date records:

Randy Moore (48-14)

VANDERBILT AT ARKANSAS: The Hogs won't be up for this game but it won't make a whole lot of difference. Arkansas, 34-17

AUBURN AT OLE MISS: The Rebels are good enough to make it interesting but not good enough to win. Tigers, 31-21

GEORGIA VS. FLORIDA (JACKSONVILLE): Georgia has turned its season around. Florida is still hoping to. Dawgs, 27-24

KENTUCKY AT MISS. STATE: With an open date up next, the Bulldogs won't overlook the Cats. MSU, 35-21

TENNESSEE AT S.CAROLINA: Vols play well for a half, then fade. Sound familiar? Gamecocks, 27-17

James Bryant (42-20)

VANDERBILT AT ARKANSAS: Arkansas should win this one easily, 45-18

AUBURN AT OLE MISS: Ole Miss always in the past has given Auburn a hard time in Oxford. Probably not this year. Auburn, 49-34.

GEORGIA VS. FLORIDA (JACKSONVILLE): Well, if Florida doesn't win this one, Meyer is officially in a tailspin downward at Florida. Go Dawgs, 28-24.

KENTUCKY AT MISS. STATE: Is Kentucky still Kentucky or can they beat the teams they are suppose to on the road? Good Question. Got to go with the home team here. MSU, 38-31 over Kentucky.

TENNESSEE AT S.CAROLINA: South Carolina going down in the upset of the year. Go Vols, 24-21

Dave Hooker (51-11)

VANDERBILT AT ARKANSAS: If this game were in Nashville, well, Vanderbilt would still lose. Arkansas, 40-13

AUBURN AT OLE MISS: This game will be closer than many Auburn fans would like. 24-21, Tigers.

GEORGIA VS. FLORIDA (JACKSONVILLE): Florida has streamlined its offense and is ready to bounce back from a three game losing streak. Gators, 27-20

KENTUCKY AT MISS. STATE: Remember when these two teams were terrible. No longer. Coaching will be the difference in this one. Mississippi State, 30-17

TENNESSEE AT S.CAROLINA: The Vols are just too thin. South Carolina, 35-16

Josh Woodward (46-16)

AUBURN AT OLE MISS: 31-17, Cam Newton for Heisman

GEORGIA VS. FLORIDA (JACKSONVILLE): 28-24, Bulldogs are on a roll.

KENTUCKY AT MISS. STATE: 31-24, Miss. State with the home win

TENNESSEE AT S.CAROLINA: 24-21, Germans, I mean Vols

Chris Price (51-11)

VANDERBILT AT ARKANSAS: Vandy may have a new coordinator, but Arkansas has the same ol' QB. Mallet and Childs have a big game. Hogs, 48-17.

AUBURN AT OLE MISS: Auburn will break the 3-week curse of the number one spot. Cam Newton further solidifies himself atop the Heisman running. Tigers, 38-20.

GEORGIA VS. FLORIDA (JACKSONVILLE): This could be one of the more interesting games in the SEC this season. Florida still has no offensive identity. Dogs win, 31-23.

KENTUCKY AT MISS. STATE: Another good game between two surprises this season. I think the home team wins simply because they are the home team. State, 24-21.

TENNESSEE AT S.CAROLINA: Tennessee is in trouble if they can't throw the ball. South Carolina ranks 2nd in rushing defense and last in passing defense in the conference. The Vols can't throw the ball. Spurrier tops Dooley, 45-20.
