Quarterback Matt Simms reacts after being pulled against South Carolina following two sack-fumbles. InsideTennessee.com provides all your post-game coverage.

Simms on his play against South Carolina

"There isn't much I can do about getting hit in the back and a guy stripping the ball from me. That is one of the better defensive lines in the conference. If you get hit a lot sometimes the ball comes out. Other than that I thought I played very well. I didn't turn the ball over besides those (fumbles), its not like a dropped back and threw it to the other team."

Did you feel like you should have gone back in the game?

"I had no idea that I was going to get taken out of the game for that. I was playing really well, extremely well, probably the best game I have played all year. Its rough, but hey they made a decision and they stuck with it."

Did you say anything to Tyler after the pick six?

"No I didn't say anything to him. They were going to give him plenty of chances. That happens, its just unfortunate that it was a turnover for a touchdown."

Did you feel like you held that ball to long on the two fumble plays?

"No, I didn't. That one play I tried to step up and make a play, get back to the line of scrimmage and he made a good play. In the red zone, I am getting ready to throw the ball and that guy flat lines me in my back, so there is nothing I can do about that. I could have stepped up a little bit, but I was getting ready to throw the football and he hit me in my back."

Do you think you leave here as the starting quarterback?

"I don't know. I wish I could say that I am definitely the starting quarterback. It's unfortunate that they took me out. I feel like I played really well. I feel like I could have made all those throws. We had guys wide open down the middle of the field and I feel like I am a good enough quarterback to make those throws. I am a little upset that I was taken out like that."
