IT picks the SEC

Two of the SEC's sharper offensive minds collide this weekend when Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino and Mississippi State head man Dan Mullen match wits in Starkville.

Of course, Petrino has Ryan Mallett at quarterback and Mullen doesn't.

The rest of this week's SEC slate is pretty bland. Alabama plays tonight against Georgia State, coached by former Tide boss Bill Curry. Saturday's action finds reeling Florida trying to get well at the expense of Appalachian State and struggling Ole Miss challenging LSU. SEC East champ South Carolina will try to avoid a letdown vs. Troy and Tennessee will try to continue its bowl quest at Vanderbilt.

Dave Hooker continues to lead InsideTennessee's picks panel with a 68-14 record, one game ahead of Chris Price.

Here are the Week 10 picks, plus the year-to-date records:

Randy Moore (65-17)

GEORGIA STATE AT ALABAMA (THURSDAY): Aren't there laws against this sort of thing? Bama, 63-7

ARKANSAS AT MISS. STATE: Ryan Mallett is just about unstoppable and the Dogs may be down after losing to Bama. Hogs, 27-20

APPALACHIAN STATE AT FLORIDA: This game may not be as lopsided as you expect. Gators, 28-13

OLE MISS AT LSU: Rebels are reeling after lopsided loss to Tennessee. Tigers, 38-17

TROY AT SOUTH CAROLINA: The Gamecocks will be flat after clinching the SEC East title. Good thing their foe is weak. Carolina, 24-14

TENNESSEE AT VANDERBILT: The Vols are rolling and feeling invincible. That feeling should continue at least one more week. UT, 45-17

James Bryant (56-26)

ARKANSAS AT MISS. STATE: Arkansas will outscore MSU, 38-35

APPALACHIAN STATE AT FLORIDA: Florida needed this game earlier in the year, could Appy pull the upset? ASU isn't as good as they use to be. Gators, 38-14

OLE MISS AT LSU: Tigers by 30

TENNESSEE AT VANDERBILT: Tennessee will continue its scoring spree and its winning streak. Vols, 45-19

Dave Hooker (68-14)

GEORGIA STATE AT ALABAMA (THURSDAY): Bama is the best two-loss team I have ever seen. 40-10

TROY AT SOUTH CAROLINA: With their eyes on Atlanta, the Gamecocks might not play their best, but they don't need to. 33-17

TENNESSEE AT VANDERBILT: Bad opponents or not, the Vols will continue to roll this week. 40-10

Josh Woodward (62-20)

GEORGIA STATE AT ALABAMA (THURSDAY): 42-10. Crimson Tide are having a glorified scrimmage
