Derek Dooley and the Tennessee Volunteers had made the State of South Carolina a priority in their recruiting.

The Vols pulled Justin Worley and Pat Martin from the state last year and it looks like they are focusing on some of South Carolina's top talents in the recruiting class of 2012.

One top prospect that already has an offer from the Vols is Spartanburg's Dorman High School offensive lineman Patrick Destefano.

InsideTennessee.com recently caught up with the big offensive guard to get his thoughts on Rocky Top.

"Yes sir I have a lot of interest in the Volunteers," Destefano said. "My dad played at Duke he has told me a lot about the traditions and how great football is at Tennessee and in the SEC."

Destefano, a 6-foot-6, 285-pound lineman, is already holding offers from Clemson, South Carolina, Tennessee, Wake Forest , North Carolina, North Carolina State, Arkansas, Stanford and Northwestern.

When asked about having an early favorite, Destefano had this to say.

"If you had asked me that question a couple of months ago, I could have easily read off a top five," Destefano said. "Now it's gotten a lot harder. So many great schools showing me a lot of attention. Words can't describe what I'm feeling now."

The SC native does plan on taking an unofficial visit to Rocky Top in the near future.

"I definitely plan on going to one of their junior days on an unofficial visit," Destefano said. "My dad has told me about all the local lore of the program and the traditions of their program. I thought playing in front of 40,000 fans was something for one of my high school games, playing in front of over 100,000 would be an incredible feeling."

Destefano is already ranked a three star offensive guard by Scout.com
