One of Georgia's top sophomores attended InsideTennessee's Combine this past Sunday at D1 Knoxville.
Alpharetta Center DeAndre Wise, a current sophomore and an up and coming Junior this fall made the trip to Knoxville, but was unable to compete in competitions and testing due to a recent injury.
That didn't stop the talented center the opportunity to check out the Vols, going to Tennessee's Orange and White game on Saturday.
"It was my first trip to Tennessee, I liked it a lot," Wise told InsideTennessee.com. "It was great, I got a chance to meet the offensive line coach Harry Hiestand, and he was impressed with me, saying that I had good size to be just a sophomore."
It appears that Wise will be coming back to Knoxville in the near future.
"I'm definitely going to their offensive lineman camp in June," Wise said. "I can't wait. Coach Hiestand wants me to come to their camp and I will be there."
Wise was disappointed that he didn't get to compete Sunday in the InsideTennessee combine.
"I pulled a muscle on Friday at another combine," Wise explained. "I hated to watch my teammates compete at the InsideTennessee Combine and not participate."
Thirteen members of Wise team attended the combine and turned in some impressive performances.
"It was a great combine," Wise said. "We loved the facility; it was one of the best combines we have been to."
Wise is listed at 6-foot-1, 290-pounds; he has attended several combines already this spring. Wise was impressed with Rocky Top.
"I loved the atmosphere, it was amazing," Wise said. "I think they are going to be really good with this coaching staff."
Wise also has a connection to the Tennessee program.
"My cousin Alvin Harper played at Tennessee," Wise said. "Tennessee is a great school."
