Spring is a time for college recruiters to evaluate talent and make new offers
One Tennessee prospect is gaining offers at a very rapid pace
Mt Juliet athlete Josh Shelton picked up his fourth offer on Tuesday, from an instate school
The 6-foot-2, 180-pound athlete that plays running back and defensive back is being recruited mainly on the defensive side of the ball Four offers down and several more to go, he hopes
"It would be great to get offers from every school in the state of Tennessee," Shelton said "I'm getting a lot of letters and interest from the Vols "
Shelton recently attended Vanderbilt's Spring game and came away impressed with his local university
"It was a great trip," Shelton said "Their defense really got after it, they are impressive "
Shelton also was impressed with the new Vandy Coaching staff
"Coach Franklin has everyone going the right direction," Shelton said "I think Vandy will surprise a lot of people "
Does Shelton have an early leader?
"No not right now," Shelton said "I'm just waiting to see who all offers me before narrowing it down "
Shelton is enjoying the recruiting process, and is excited about having four offers
"It feels good," Shelton said "My goal is to continue to work hard and let everything else work out on its own "
Shelton hasn't made a trip to Rocky Top, but hopes to change that before the summer is over
