It's that time of the year again.
We at InsideTennessee.com count down the top 30 In-State players every year, with the Class of 2012 not being an exception.
Our recruiting analyst and staff writers haven gotten a better opportunity to see the talent in the state of Tennessee up close this past spring, with the help of the First Annual InsideTennessee Combine held in Knoxville last month, along with numerous other combines and spring practices.
We will begin at No. 30 and work our way down the list all the way to No. 1. Please remember this is a Pre-Season Top 30, and we will release our Post-Season Top 30 after the conclusion of the 2011 season.
No. 30 Cody Ricker-Quarterback-Morristown East High School
Ricker as a junior threw for 254 yards and ran for 70 in an impressive win over Cherokee 42-26, he scored two touchdowns.
Ricker, stands at 6-foot-1, 215-pounds.
Has good arm strength and sees the field extremely well.
Currently not ranked by Scout.com and is listed as the No. 30th player in the state by InsideTennessee.com.
THE INSIDE TAKE
If Ricker was a couple of inches taller his offer sheet would be exploding. Definitely can play in a spread top offense at the next level, especially in a shotgun situation. If he doesn't go D1, a D1-AA school will definitely get a steal in this young man.
Expect Ricker to receive some offers after this year's spring evaluation period and summer camps. Ricker is expected to participate in several camps this summer at schools of his choice.
Stay tuned to InsideTennessee.com for this daily countdown as we work our way to the No. 1 overall player in the state of Tennessee.
