Markus Manson may be the top running back in the state of Alabama this season and one of the top backs in the south. He had a very productive year on the field with 1,900 yards rushing and 20 touchdowns as a junior. At 6-0 and 190 pounds, Manson has good size, and he has great speed.

"Well, my best ever time is a 4.25," said Manson, "but my coach told me to tell people 4.3 if they ever asked," added Manson with a laugh.

Despite his blazing speed, Manson claims another of his attributes as being his strength on the football field.

"I see the hole really well, and I like to follow my offensive line."

It's difficult to find a speed back of Manson's stature that is patient enough to follow his blocks and wait for the play develop, and those are the types of factors that are making him one of the most heavily recruited running backs in the deep south.

"I have offers from Alabama, Auburn, Vanderbilt, and South Carolina right now. I don't have any favorites though. I haven't even started to narrow down my schools. I'm going to Alabama and Auburn camps this summer, and I'm going to the Nike Camp in May."

Manson is a very good student with a 3.3 GPA, and he should have no trouble qualifying.
