Often high prospects will fly underneath the recruiting radar for one reason or another.

This appears to be the case for Memphis resident and former Trezevant athlete Cameron Mayfield.

Mayfield played last year for Trezevant, he is expected to transfer to either Memphis East or Manassas High School due to his parents moving.

InsideTennessee.com got the opportunity to watch Mayfield in action during a April 8 combine in Nashville Tennessee.

Mayfield, who measures in at 6-foot-0, 175-pounds, ran a 4.56 at the combine held at D1 Nashville.

"Schools are starting to show me a little attention," Mayfield recently admitted. "Coaches coming by the school are realizing I'm a senior this fall."

Mayfield has become great friends with Memphis East High School stars Brian Kimbrow and Will Redmond and wouldn't mind the opportunity to play with those two speedsters.

"We are all really good friends," Mayfield said. "It will depend on where my parents end up moving. I would love to play at East."

Where ever the standout athlete lands college coaches are sure to try to located him on their radar.

Mayfield plays quarterback, strong safety among several positions for his team last fall.

Currently Mayfield is getting interest from Memphis, Arkansas State, Arkansas, Southern Mississippi and Middle Tennessee State.
