A certain day can't get here quick enough for one of Tennessee's current football signees.

That day, is Pat Martin's arrival day to Rocky Top.

A lot of speculation on the message boards has put Martin as a long shot to make it, according to Martin himself Wednesday night, that doesn't appear to be the case anymore.

Martin recently had a phone interview with the Tennessee Admissions office and he is patiently waiting by his mailbox in daily fashion for the official word

"The Tennessee coaching staff sat me down in January and told me what I had to do to make it here this fall," Martin said. "I have done everything they told me I had to do and everything looks really good at this point."

Martin apparently needed his SAT score to raise up some, he also needed a great final semester in the classroom for his G.P.A. to go up as well.

"You need to tell the Tennessee fans not to worry," Martin said. "Let them know everything is ok, that Pat will be there later this summer and will be playing for them this fall."

According to Martin, he isn't the only one feeling confident about the process.

"The Tennessee coaching staff is telling me that I'm in great shape," Martin said. "That everything should be ok. I should be getting a letter from the admissions office anyday now."

Martin has been a fan favorite though his passion and love for the Vols through social media avenues. He has remained positive throughout this ordeal.

"I fell in love with Tennessee, their fans, its tradition and everything about RockyTop," Martin noted. "I have a great relationship with the coaching staff and I can't wait to get on campus."

There is one Tennessee Tradition that Martin can't wait to participate in.

"Running through that T in front of 100,000 fans," Martin said. "That will be an incredible feeling. Everyone that I have spoken to that has experienced it, says there is nothing in the world that compares to it."

While Martin knows he has his work cut out for him later this summer and fall, he feels that he is up for the challenge.

"I have worked extremely hard to this point to get to Tennessee," Martin said. "I'm going to continue to work extremely hard to make an impact on this team this fall. I can't wait to get up there and start working with my teammates."
