Lost weekend: LSU hammers Vols

Tennessee's baseball team will try to bounce back this week after being hammered by LSU in a three-game series last weekend at Baton Rouge. The Tigers won 17-4 on Friday, 10-6 on Saturday and 15-4 on Sunday.

The Vols (24-20 overall, 8-13 in the SEC) visit UNC Asheville Tuesday at 7, then host Alabama Friday at 7, Saturday at 7 and Sunday at 2.

Jordan Czarniecki leads the SEC and ranks eighth all-time at UT with 52 career stolen bases. He also ranks fifth in career hit-by-pitch with 25. Both Czarniecki and second baseman Walter Sevilla will play in and start their 100th game against Alabama Friday.

Javi Herrera hit an inside-the-park home run against LSU last Saturday, becoming the first Vol since Czarniecki accomplished last year against Bowling Green State.
