2004 Recruiting Profile: Bobby Reid (QB)

There are some great quarterbacks from the state of Texas this year. Meet Galena Park (Texas) North Shore High School signal caller Bobby Reid and he has a ton of scholarship offers already.

Another top-notch signal caller from the state of Texas is Bobby Reid from Galena Park (Texas) North Shore High School. Reid is a versatile quarterback that has size and speed and can run and throw. He is very impressive on film.

"I go out there and make stuff happen," Reid said. "I take charge and go get the momentum. I am a leader. I lead by example and I will lead vocally too. My size intimidates teams because they don't think I can run the way I do. I have a good arm and I can throw all the passes. I feel like I can fit into any offense out there."

Reid, 6-3 and 215 pounds, runs in the 4.4 range. He says that Arizona, Northwestern, Oklahoma State, Nebraska, Iowa State, Texas A&M, Arkansas and Wisconsin have already offered him a scholarship.

"It is kind of surprising. I though this would happen but I figured it would be during the season this fall. Right now, I like Georgia, Oklahoma State, Florida State, Arkansas and Notre Dame. But to be honest with you, I am wide open. I really would like to take my visits and see what is out there. I would also like to find an offense where the QB runs and throws."

Reid will camp this weekend at the Texas A&M Nike Camp. This summer, he plans on camping at some schools but there is a hitch. He will only camp at the schools that have already offered him a scholarship. Last season as a junior, Reid was 66/113 for 1,069 yards and 13 touchdowns.
