Castellvi finishes 4-0 in Cup

Lady Vol tennis standout Vilmarie Castellvi concluded her stay in San Juan, P.R., by assisting her native country of Puerto Rico in a 2-1 victory over Venezuela at Fed Cup.

By finishing first in the Americas Qualifying Group II A with a perfect 4-0 mark, Puerto Rico was elevated to Group I status for next year's Fed Cup, which would allow it the opportunity to advance to the World Group Playoff ties.

Castellvi, the No. 1-ranked player on the college scene, moved her Fed Cup singles record to 4-0 after registering a 6-2, 6-0 decision over Avel-Romaly Coronado. Castellvi notched a 4-0 doubles slate when she teamed with Tania Rivera for a 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 victory over Stephanie Schaer and Claudia Strauss, 6-1, 4-6, 6-4.
