QB Looking For A Home

Canada's Mike Faulds had an impressive showing at the (Ann Arbor) Nike Camp. Mike turned down a couple of scholarship offers last year hoping to improve his stock by attending a few Nike Camps this year.

There were plenty of big name gunslingers at the Ann Arbor Nike Camp, all of which have scholarship offers.

There also was a quarterback at that camp that not many people knew about but made quite an impression on the coaches during the drills.

Canada's Mike Faulds made the trip to Ann Arbor with several other Toronto area football players.

Faulds has the size (6-3, 205) that the college recruiters are looking for and he demonstrated that he has the arm strength to play at the D-1 level as well.

"I'm academically cleared and ready to play," said Faulds. "I had scholarship offers from Rutgers and Eastern Michigan last year but I didn't sign anything.

"Nothing against those schools but I felt I could do better. I'll play anywhere in the country and I'm listening to everyone right now.

"The schools that I would like to hear from are Michigan, Syracuse, Washington State and Oregon but like I said, I'll listen to everyone.

"I'm going to Stanford this weekend for my second Nike Camp and I'm also going to an "Elite 11" tryout before that camp."

Fualds threw for 2,400 yards and 33 touchdowns in his final year of high school. He led his team to a provincial (state) championship.

Faulds also was the quarterback for Team Canada, that played in San Diego during Super Bowl week this past January.
