2004 Recruiting Profile- Micah Jones (OL)

Kentucky offensive line prospect Micah Jones has several offers right now.

One of the top prospects from the Bluegrass State is Micah Jones from Mayfield, Kentucky. Jones, 6-5 and 325 pounds, is an offensive line prospect. At this point, he prefers to play guard, although he is a tackle for his high school team.

"I am 325 pounds and only 6-5," Jones said. "A tackle should be 6-7 or so. I am a power player that loves to drive block and pass block. I have that killer instinct out there, play until the whistle blows and play the game well... I play hard."

Last season, Mayfield went unbeaten and won the state championship. According to Jones, he has scholarship offers from Kentucky, Louisville, Ole Miss, Arkansas, and Indiana. Georgia, Auburn, Michigan, Tennessee and many others are showing a lot of interest at this point.

"I kind of want to red-shirt. I am looking at everything like coaching staffs, school, tradition, and the campuses. I want to take my time with the process. Right now, I am open. I like Georgia, Michigan, Miami, Kentucky, Auburn, Ole Miss, Louisville, Tennessee and Arkansas."

As a junior, Jones graded out at 86%. He bench presses 325, squats 450 and power cleans 275. Kentucky, Louisville, Arkansas and Indiana have called him so far in May.
