SEC picks

It's only Week 2 of the college football season but four SEC teams will be meeting in league play this weekend.

Mississippi State visits defending national champ Auburn and reigning SEC East champ South Carolina visits Georgia. Another marquee game finds Alabama visiting Penn State.

InsideTennessee's panel of experts kicked butt last weekend, going a combined 43-5 on their SEC picks. Josh Woodward, Danny Parker and Chris Price went 11-1 each, while Randy Moore went 10-2.

Here are their projections for this week's games, plus their year-to-date records:

Alabama at Penn State: 24-20, Alabama wins a close one in Happy Valley

New Mexico vs. Arkansas (Little Rock): 52-20, Hogs keep rolling on the inferior opponents.

Mississippi State at Auburn: 35-24, Bulldogs roll the national champs.

UAB at Florida: 28-17,Gators are looking ahead to the Vols and win ugly.

South Carolina at Georgia: 24-17, Georgia. Mark Richt's back is against the wall and they need this win.

Central Michigan at Kentucky: 17-3, Kentucky. Not sure if Kentucky can score many points.

Northwestern State at LSU: 45-7, Tigers look like a national championship contender.

Southern Illinois at Ole Miss: 21-17, Ole Miss squeaks by with a win.

Connecticut at Vanderbilt: 24-20, Connecticut with the win over the mighty Dores.

Cincinnati at Tennessee: 38-35, Tennessee runs the ball better, but this will be a close one.

Alabama at Penn State: In spite of the QB fiasco going on, the Tide finds a way to prevail. Alabama, 20-6

New Mexico vs. Arkansas (Little Rock): Tyler Wilson throws for 200 yards in the first quarter. Arkansas, 52-8

Mississippi State at Auburn: The margin will be too great for any last-second heroics this week. State 38-24

UAB at Florida: Gators look shaky early but turn it on late. Florida, 35-10

South Carolina at Georgia: Marcus Lattimore left. Marcus Lattimore right. Marcus Lattimore up the gut. S. Carolina, 28-21

Central Michigan at Kentucky: Not the best football game of the day. Kentucky, 5-3

Northwestern State at LSU: Les Miles calls the dogs off early against his neighbor. LSU, 41-0

Southern Illinois at Ole Miss: I got nothin'. Mississippi, 27-12

Connecticut at Vanderbilt: Hide the women and children cause it's going to get crazy when those 27K fans file into the Music City for this one. Connecticut, 34-16

Cincinnati at Tennessee: Austin Johnson comes up with a key turnover late. Tennessee, 38-37

Alabama at Penn State: This is a classic game and I am anxious to catch it, but I think the the Tide just have to much talent for the Joe Pa's boy to hang around. I am taking Saban's Tide, 38-17.

New Mexico vs. Arkansas (Little Rock): Arkansas gave you a glimpse of their offense last week and this week will be more of the same. They will be calling the Hogs all day long. Arkansas, 48-10.

Mississippi State at Auburn: Auburn showed you that Cam Newton definitely was worth the bling. They won't be able to hang with what Mullen has going at Mississippi State. The Bulldogs know how to get up for these type of games. Mullen's crew, 35-24.

UAB at Florida: UAB gave Tennessee a game during the 2010 season and I think this one may be closer than the experts think. I am taking Florida by 10. Gators, 34-24.

South Carolina at Georgia: Georgia doesn't stand a chance in this one. They are far too young and flat out not talented enough to hang with Garcia, Lattimore and the Gamecocks. South Carolina, 45-17.

Central Michigan at Kentucky: Kentucky's showing last week was flat-out embarrassing on the opening Thursday night of college football. My guess, they will be a little more prepared for this week's game. Cats, 30-6.

Northwestern State at LSU: LSU is coming off a big win and they will continue to keep things going. Jared Lee just has to not screw things up and the Tigers could be headed to New Orleans this January. LSU, 51-14.

Southern Illinois at Ole Miss: Ole Miss couldn't get it done against out-of-conference opponent BYU, but they will rebound this week. I will take the Rebels, 33-10.

Connecticut at Vanderbilt: Vanderbilt doesn't quite have the talent to hang with the Huskies in this one. Connecticut has been pretty steady and the 'Dores are working with a new head man. I will take UCONN, 23-20.

Cincinnati at Tennessee: Tennessee's defense is going to have to bow up and get some stops in this one. I am taking the Vols, but there is going to be a lot of points scored in this one. Should be a good measuring stick for the rest of the season. Tennessee, 45-35.

Alabama at Penn State: Nick Saban is a great coach. Joe Paterno was great in his time but his time has passed. Bama, 27-14

New Mexico vs. Arkansas (Little Rock): Bobby Petrino can pick a score. Hogs, 56-7

Mississippi State at Auburn: Bulldogs are on the rise, Tigers are on the decline. Dogs, 31-20

UAB at Florida: Will the Gators be looking ahead to Tennessee? Maybe. Florida, 34-17

South Carolina at Georgia: This could be Mark Richt's watershed moment ... or it could be his Waterloo. Dawgs, 27-24

Central Michigan at Kentucky: Wonder if the Big Blue has found any offense since last Saturday? Wildcats, 20-7

Northwestern State at LSU: The Tigers have more talent than Northwestern and Northwestern State combined. LSU, 38-14

Southern Illinois at Ole Miss: The Rebels find someone even they can beat. Ole Miss, 24-10

Connecticut at Vanderbilt: The Huskies drilled Fordham 35-3 last Saturday, making Paul Pasqualoni the first UConn coach to win his debut since 1923. That isn't relevant but it's amazing. Huskies, 27-17

Cincinnati at Tennessee: Will the Vols be looking ahead to Florida? Maybe. Tennessee, 34-20
