SEC picks

Two of football's offensive masterminds collide Saturday in Fayetteville, when Bobby Petrino's pass-happy Arkansas Razorbacks host an Auburn team whose attack is coordinated by Gus Malzahn.

Auburn vs. Arkansas shapes up as the most intriguing of the six games on this weekend's SEC schedule, although the Tennessee-Georgia shootout in Knoxville has a lot of promise, as well.

InsideTennessee's staff went a combined 18-10 on last week's SEC picks. Danny Parker and Randy Moore went 5-2 each, while Josh Woodward and Chris Price went 4-3. Price still has the best season record at 37-8.

Here are their projections for this week's games, plus their year-to-date records:

Vanderbilt at Alabama: This is a toughie. Should be close, but I am going to have to go with the Tide here. Alabama 42-9.

Auburn at Arkansas: This game actually is a pretty tough call, but I like what Michael Dyer is doing for the Tigers right now. If they can play keep away I think they pull it off. War Eagle 27-23.

Florida at LSU: Without Brantley the Gators are hopeless in this one. If you didn't get a look at Jeff Diskel last week be glad. Kid looked like a deer in the head lights. And LSU's defense is more talented than Alabama's. Tigers 31-10.

Kentucky at South Carolina: South Carolina has disappointed a lot already, but even Stephen Garcia could beat the Wildcats even though he has lost hist starting job. Gamecocks 38-17.

Mississippi State at UAB: Mississippi State is having a rough go, but they can win this one. Bulldogs 34-10.

Georgia at Tennessee: I think that the Bulldogs are too dynamic on offense for the Volunteers. Tennessee has a very young defense that just isn't ready for this type of opponent. Maybe next year. Dogs 38-20.

Vanderbilt at Alabama: This is usually an ugly one but Richardson should have a good day. Alabama, 24-6

Auburn at Arkansas: Thank goodness we don't have to predict the over/under on this one. Zero defense. Auburn, 51-47

Florida at LSU: Freshman Gator QB will be tossed into the fire against the country's top D. Good luck Jeff! LSU, 27-9

Kentucky at South Carolina: The visor toss count should be at a minimum in this one. S. Carolina, 48-12

Mississippi State at UAB: UAB is hosting a football game? Hmmm. Didn't know it had its own field. State, 30-10

Georgia at Tennessee: The Vols just appear to be too early in the rebuilding process to overtake a loaded team. Georgia, 30-24

Vanderbilt at Alabama: 45-6 Bama rolls over the Dores

Auburn at Arkansas: 38-34 Tigers keep on winning

Florida at LSU: 33-14 Tigers beat up on the Gators like Bama did

Kentucky at South Carolina: 24-6 Gamecocks with the win over the worst team in the SEC

Mississippi State at UAB: 35-21 Miss. State grabs an easy non conference win

Georgia at Tennessee: 28-21 Vols beat the Bulldogs

Vanderbilt at Alabama: If I were Commodore QB Larry Smith I'd show up wearing track shoes instead of football cleats. He'll be running for his life all day. Bama, 38-0

Auburn at Arkansas: Tiger coordinator Gus Malzahn and Hog head man Bobby Petrino are two of the most creative offensive minds in the game but Petrino has a better quarterback and a home-field advantage. Hogs, 37-34

Florida at LSU: The Gators weren't going to win this game, even with John Brantley at quarterback. Tigers, 24-7

Kentucky at South Carolina: The Cocks weren't going to lose this game, even with Stephen Garcia at quarterback. SC, 24-7

Mississippi State at UAB: The Bulldogs, 0-3 in SEC play, improve to 3-0 outside the conference. State, 31-17

Georgia at Tennessee: Mark Richt's seat is about to get a whole lot hotter. Vols, 27-20
