Incredibly, perhaps the most intriguing game on this weekend's schedule is the in-state tussle between Tennessee (0-6 SEC) and Vanderbilt (2-5 SEC). The Vols have won 27 of the past 28 meetings but the Commodores are fired up and optimistic.
Danny Parker went 6-1 on last week's InsideTennessee picks. Randy Moore and Chris Price went 5-2, Josh Woodward 4-3. Price continues to hold the best season's record at 65-15.
What follows are this week's SEC picks, with each staffer's year-to-date record in parenthesis:
CHRIS PRICE (65-15)
Georgia Southern at Alabama: Alabama rolls over GS with ease. Tide, 48-0.
Miss. State vs. Arkansas (Little Rock): Arkansas has things going and is extremely dynamic on offense. State can't match them. Swine, 33-17.
Samford at Auburn: Auburn takes care of business on their way to the showdown. Tigers, 38-6.
Furman at Florida: Wow, some good games on the schedule this weekend. Florida, 33-6.
Kentucky at Georgia: Kentucky is Kentucky. Georgia, 42-10.
Citadel at South Carolina: Another good one. Gamecocks, 42-0.
Vanderbilt at Tennessee: Tyler Bray is back. Enough said. Tennessee, 21-17.
DANNY PARKER (64-16)
Georgia Southern at Alabama: Breaking news hits many Crimson Tide fans hard while in Tuscaloosa after learning that Paul "Bear" Bryant is deceased. Alabama, 45-0
Miss. State vs. Arkansas (Little Rock): Every time I see the word Arkansas now I hear Michael J. Fox's voice from his work in the blockbuster hit "Incredible Journey." Arkansas, 49-7
Samford at Auburn: The Tigers get a win over an in-state opponent in November but not the one their faithful prefer. Auburn, 44-21
Kentucky at Georgia: The simplest path for an SEC Eastern Division team to take to Atlanta gets even easier with the Wildcats in town. Georgia, 38-12
LSU at Ole Miss: With no dinner to stand on in Oxford, coach Les Miles heads out of town hungry but with another win. LSU, 48-6
Citadel at South Carolina: Alshon Jeffrey's performance sparks coach Steve Spurrier into pondering adopting a 20-year-old. S. Carolina, 40-0
Vanderbilt at Tennessee: Old quarterback, new team. Vols break their dreary second-half scoreless streak and turn I-40 West into the Trail of Tears. Tennessee, 26-21
RANDY MOORE (63-17)
Georgia Southern at Alabama: No mercy. The Tide still has a shot at the national title. Bama, 49-7
Miss. State vs. Arkansas (Little Rock): The Razorbacks can't be as good as they looked against Tennessee. Still ... Hogs, 27-13
Samford at Auburn: I love SEC football but even I wouldn't watch this. Auburn, 42-14
Furman at Florida: I love SEC football but I wouldn't watch this, either. Gators, 45-7
Kentucky at Georgia: I feel sorry for UK offensive coordinator Randy Sanders, who once played and coached for UT. A lot of high school teams have more weapons than the Big Blue has. Dawgs, 31-7
LSU at Ole Miss: The Houston Nutt farewell tour continues. Tigers, 42-7
Citadel at South Carolina: Who needs Marcus Lattimore? Gamecocks, 38-7
Vanderbilt at Tennessee: Games are won with talent and emotion. Neither team has much talent but Vandy has emotion. Commodores, 24-20
JOSH WOODWARD (61-19)
Georgia Southern at Alabama: Just another day in paradise for the Crimson Tide: 39-7 Alabama
Miss. State vs. Arkansas (Little Rock): After watching Arkansas last week, they might beat State by thirty: 40-10
Samford at Auburn: This shouldn't be too close: Auburn, 35-10
Furman at Florida: Another cupcake for the Gators: Florida, 33-7
Kentucky at Georgia: This game shouldn't be close; two programs going in the opposite direction: Georgia, 34-10
LSU at Ole Miss: This one could get real ugly, LSU fans might take over the grove: Tigers, 99-3
Citadel at South Carolina: I like South Carolina's defense, they should be able to score enough to beat the Citadel by themselves. Gamecocks, 28-7
Vanderbilt at Tennessee: In all my life I have never picked a Vanderbilt victory over Tennessee. The Dores look like a team with some momentum, but I just can't see them beating Tennessee. Vols, 24-20
