Derek Dooley's coaching staff has suffered another casualty. Eric Russell, Dooley's tight ends coach and special teams coordinator, as we have previously mentioned, will depart Knoxville to join Mike Leach at Washington State according to sources inside the Tennessee football office.

Russell, who coached two seasons under Dooley at Louisiana Tech, has a reputation as one of the top special teams coaches in the country and was special teams coordinator at Texas Tech in 2009. For his efforts, Russell was a nominee for the 2009 Frank Broyles Awards honoring the nation's top assistant coaches.

This will leave another vacancy on Dooley's staff, the first coming when wide receivers coach Charlie Baggett departed the Volunteers staff. With the departure of Baggett, Dooley added former Tennessee Volunteer running back Jay Graham as the team's full-time running backs coach.

While it has not been formally announced, it looks as though former quarterbacks coach Darin Hinshaw will take over the role of wide receivers coach, but any way you slice it Dooley now has another vacancy to fill on his staff.
