Sunseri provides Derek Dooley will a lot of flexibility when it comes to both the positions of defensive line and linebackers. He has done both during his career with a lot of success. Prior to his stay at Alabama, Sunseri coached defensive line with the Carolina Panthers coaching a host of linemen, most notably All-Pro defensive end Julius Peppers.

Nix definitely has the resume for the job having coordinated defenses for Ole Miss, South Carolina and Southern Miss. Prior to his promotion to sole defensive coordinator at USC, the Gamecocks were giving up over 27 points per game. After the promotion, and under Coach Nix's sole guidance, the USC defense held opponents to just 17 points per game.

Marion Hobby is a former Volunteer — always a big selling point to the fan base. Hobby lettered four times as a defensive end at Tennessee (1986-89). He went on to play three seasons (42 games) in the NFL with the New England Patriots. This is his second tour of duty at Clemson. He served as defensive line coach in 2005, helping the Tigers to an 8-4 record and a top-25 finish in the AP poll.

Rodney Garner added the title of Assistant Head Coach in 2005 after serving as defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator at Georgia since January, 1998. Originally from Leeds, Ala., Garner coached tight ends and offensive tackles at Tennessee in 1997 after coaching tight ends for the Volunteers in 1996.

Rodgers was a four-year letterman at the University of Tennessee (1988-91), where he played linebacker and defensive end on teams that won a pair of Southeastern Conference championships (1990, 1991). He has since coached nine years coaching in NFL, including stays with both the Miami Dolphins and the Dallas Cowboys as a defensive line coach. Rodgers is a native of Humboldt, Tennessee.

Under Mathies tutelage in 2009, sophomore Jared Clendenin had 40 total tackles while tying for third on the team in tackles for loss (3.5).

Prunty, who joined the Red Raiders in 2010 from Hargrave Military Academy, put his mark on the Red Raider football program almost immediately. Prunty was an integral part in signing the highest rated football recruiting class in school history. For his efforts, he was named the 2010-11 Big 12 Recruiter of the Year by Scout.com.

DeMarco McNeil

DeMarco McNeil is already on staff at Tennessee as a strength and condition intern and he spends a lot of time on the practice field working with the Tennessee defensive linemen. A former defensive tackle at Auburn, McNeil served as an administrative assistant and graduate assistant at Auburn. Then he was hired to coach defensive line at Division III Birmingham Southern.
