With his team clinging to a 21-game winning streak to start the 2011-12 season, Travon Landry saw his dreams and those of his Bob Jones (Ala.) High School teammates vanish in a split second as a buzzer beater left the Patriots with a 55-54 loss to Lee last weekend.

Bob Jones (22-1) entered the game ranked No. 1 in Class 6A and No. 25 nationally by USA Today. Lee (17-8) was No. 1 in Class 5A.

The game-winner came from Lee's Bobby Strickland and he sank the shot with Landry waving a hand in his face.

Landry, a junior point guard verbally committed to Tennessee, didn't pout or mourn. Instead the future court general for coach Cuonzo Martin handled the gut-wrenching defeat like a classy veteran.

"Bobby's a great player," Landry told The Huntsville Times. "He hit a great shot with a hand in his face. Great offense will beat great defense any day."

The same two teams go at it again in Huntsville on Saturday afternoon at 5 p.m. CDT.
