Normally, Tennessee's September home games are played at night to avoid problems with the heat. The opportunity to play two televised games obviously convinced UT officials to compromise a bit.
UT faces heat in Games 1 and 2
ESPN2 will televise the Vols' Aug. 30 opener against Fresno State at 3 p.m. EST and their Sept. 6 game against Marshall at 4 p.m. Both games will be played at Neyland Stadium, which can be a very warm place to play a mid-afternoon game in late summer/early fall.
