Watch Out For This WR

A wide receiver prospect that everyone will be hearing about this fall is Mike McIntosh from Jacksonville (Fla.) First Coast High School. McIntosh, 6-2 and 180 pounds, mainly played quarterback last season. His main target was Anthony "Amp" Hill who signed with LSU. McIntosh threw for over 600 yards and five scores, rushed for 400 yards and ten scores and caught 10 passes, including three touchdown passes.

"Last season, I passed to Amp and used my athletic ability to run the ball," McIntosh said. "I am really looking forward to this season because I will be the go to guy and we have a good quarterback. I have size, speed and quickness and I have a good mental game out there."

If spring is any indication, than McIntosh should have a super senior year. They faced both Jacksonville Ed White and Jacksonville Raines in the spring jamborees and won both halves. He caught six passes and scored two touchdowns. According to McIntosh, he has scholarship offers from Florida, Florida State, Miami, Clemson, Auburn, Tennessee, South Carolina, LSU and others. For now, he has three leaders.

"I really like Auburn, Clemson and Tennessee. Auburn was the first school that offered me and they are going to be very good this year. They are picked to win the (SEC) West. I camped there and really liked the campus, facilities and their coaching staff.

"I grew up liking Clemson and they have always had some great players from Jacksonville. I like their wide receiver coach (Sweeney) and met with their staff at their camp. I feel like I already have a great relationship with those guys.

" (Coach Jimmy Ray) Stephens is recruiting me for Tennessee and I like him a lot. Coach (Pat) Washington came to my spring game and Tennessee would be a great place to play. I would love to play in front of that large crowd. That would be exciting. I have never been there but I would like to catch a game this season.

"I also like LSU and Miami.

"I would love to play with Amp in college. He and I are pretty close. He wants me to come but he also wants me to pick a place where I feel comfortable. That was the advice he gave me about recruiting. I would also like to play early as a freshman."

McIntosh also camped this summer at LSU and Central Florida. He also participates in track and basketball.
