Pearland 'back has 2 offers

Raider Power caught up with Brandon Roberson, a 5-9, 185/190-pound scat-back, to see how things have been shaping up with regard to his recruitment.

"Utah recently offered me a scholarship," Roberson said. "Just got it a couple of weeks ago and was really excited about it." The Pearland tailback said he had talked to Coach Mullen (Utah assistant coach) in May and knew then the Utes had some interest in him.

And don't forget about the Big 10 offer from Northwestern as Roberson said, "I'm definitely interested in their program, too."

Other schools Roberson is interested in receiving an offer from (in alphabetical order) are: "Houston, Kansas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU, Tennessee, Texas Tech and UCLA."

Asked about his thoughts regarding Texas Tech, the Texas Top 100 prospect said: "I just like their passing game. They pass it quite a bit and when they do run, they usually get a lot of big plays."

"And I have a lot of confidence in my hands, Roberson continued. "They throw to their tailbacks a lot and I like that aspect of their offense, too."

The runner who clocked a 4.5 forty at the Houston Combine, atoning for his less-than-stellar forty time at Texas Nike, also said he likes the atmosphere at Texas Tech.

"Not only that, but I've heard nothing but good things about their school. And, I just think they they could really use a back like me."
