After dipping into North Carolina for verbal commitments from quarterback Riley Ferguson and wide receiver Marquez North, the Tennessee coaching staff ventured slightly further south into South Carolina to get a pledge from athlete Jabo Lee.

The Dillon (S.C.) High School runner started turning heads after showing some electric shake during his junior season, rushing for 1,642 yards and 27 touchdowns. However, injuries plagued the former East Carolina commitment last fall.

Dillon won its third SCHSL Class AA Div. I state championship in three years after beating Fairfield Central 21-6 back on Nov. 30. Lee had just one carry in the final before having to be helped off the field in Columbia.

Wildcat Joe Blue helped pick up the pieces in place of the FOX Sports NEXT three-star. Lee ran for 123 yards back on the evening of Aug. 18 when the injury occurred.

Back at the Under Armour Combine halfway through his junior year of high school, Lee measured in at 5-foot-8 1/2 and 172 pounds with a laser-timed 40-yard dash of 4.7 seconds. He bench pressed 185 pounds eight times that day.

Highlights from that junior season are in the video below:
