Tennessee signee Josh Smith

Though rated a two-star prospect by FOX Sports NEXT, this Knoxville native was so impressive at Tennessee's summer camp that the Vols were thrilled when he accepted a scholarship offer.

A two-time all-state wide receiver, Josh Smith averaged 19.9 yards per reception as a junior at Christian Academy of Knoxville, catching 96 balls for 1,911 yards and 22 touchdowns. That yardage total ranked No. 9 in America and No. 1 in Tennessee. Though limited by a broken collarbone as a senior in 2012, Smith still posted 65 catches for 1,176 yards and 15 TDs. He finished his prep career with more than 4,000 receiving yards and 52 receiving scores. As a senior he also registered 48 tackles and an interception on defense. A three-time All-District selection, Smith recorded more than 1,000 receiving yards and 15 TDs as a sophomore at CAK.
