Having just two scholarship quarterbacks with spring practice set to get underway for the Tennessee Volunteers in a matter of weeks, head coach Butch Jones wanted to address that depth in the Class of 2013.

The first-year head man did so and in a major way by signing four-star Joshua Dobbs and three-star Riley Ferguson.

"Everything about building a program is about competition," Jones said. "Quarterback is the most important position on the field so to be able to have that competitive environment each and every day is going to be extremely healthy for our football team."

Dobbs is an Alpharetta, Ga., native that flipped from a verbal commitment to Arizona State to be a Volunteer.
