McDonough, Ga., native and 5-foot-9, 205 pounder Sedrick Palmer recently visited Tennessee unofficially and loved what he saw during his time on Rocky Top.
"The visit was really good," Palmer told InsideTennessee.com. "I really liked the city of Knoxville. I was actually pretty surprised and the facilities are awesome. I have been to other SEC schools and Tennessee's facilities were by far the best so far."
Palmer, who claims 4.55 40-yard dash speed, was actually offered by Vanderbilt, his first, during his time at Tennessee and noticed Tennessee fans flocking to his Twitter feed.
"I actually got an offer from Vanderbilt when I was here on my visit," he said. "That was pretty crazy, especially after I saw every one of Twitter talking about me. Since I got here I have added a ton of followers from Tennessee fans."
Running backs coach Jay Graham is Palmer's primary recruiter, but he also got a chance to meet with head coach Butch Jones, who impressed the Henry County (Ga.) High School prospect from the jump.
"I got a chance to talk with Coach Graham," he said. "He really likes my film and they are really excited about me. I like Coach Jones too. He is a cool guy and I like the vision he has for the program. You can tell they are going to do well here."
Palmer has visited Mississippi State several times already and said that he would love to get an offer from the Florida Gators. He will also be at junior day with the Georgia Bulldogs this weekend, Feb. 16.
While Palmer measures in at just 5-foot-9, he says he can do anything coaches need from him on the football field.
"I am a small back, but I can do anything," Palmer said. "I can run between the tackles and pick up a first down or I can get to the edge for a big gain. I can catch the ball out of the backfield right now. I am 5-foot-9, but I can do anything you want me to do."
