With Paulk in the fold for the 2014 class, the Volunteers now have six pledges overall with five of those coming in the last seven days, including two running backs back-to-back after Jalen Hurd's declaration Thursday.
Paulk went public with his pledge on Friday, tweeting: "I just committed to The University of Tennessee! Gonna Bring a National Championship to Knoxville #VFL #TheTakeover."
While splitting carries with Auburn signee Peyton Barber, Paulk ran for over 1,100 yards his junior season at Milton (Ga.) High School. He's ranked by FOX Sports NEXT as the No. 54 running back in the country.
The three-star is the first Georgia-based prospect to pledge to coach Butch Jones amongst the 2014s. He joins three Volunteer State commits.
The 5-foot-9, 200-pounder is close with Tennessee signee and wide receiver Ryan Jenkins from the 2013 class. The pair have made trips to Rocky top this winter.
Paulk has spoken openly about his tightness with Jones and receiving letters from every coach on the staff in Knoxville. His being a Vol — along with Hurd's arrival in January — is pivotal with Tennessee signing just one running in 2013 — Jabo Lee.
Returning starter Rajion Neal is a rising senior and other top back Marlin Lane is a rising junior. Devrin Young was moved to wide receiver.
