As seen by the 2013 signing class, Tennessee isn't afraid to dip into the offensive side of the football to find playmakers for the Volunteer defense.

Emmanuel Smith roams centerfield for the Oakland (Tenn.) High School defense but makes the Patriot offense run as a dual-threat quarterback and occasional receiver. Coach Butch Jones and his staff recognized that ability and are want the FOX Sports NEXT three-star to bring those talents to Knoxville.

More and more schools are popping with scholarship offers for the two-way standout. The Murfreesboro, Tenn., native's list of offers includes Louisville, Memphis, Oregon State,Tennessee and Vanderbilt.

Oakland was eliminated in the opening round of the 2012 TSSAA Class 6A state playoffs by then-undefeated Siegel 58-13. The Patriots finished 6-5.
