IT picks the SEC

InsideTennessee's staff brings you great writing and great predicting. Check out our projections for this week's SEC games:

The big game in the SEC this weekend is LSU at Georgia. The Tigers look to stay unbeaten as they venture into Athens.

Another game to key an eye on the Ole Miss and Alabama game. The Tide have not looked as sharp as expected and Ole Miss has the ability to upset the Crimson Tide.

Danny Parker snatched the lead away from Randy Moore and Josh Woodward. Danny went 9-0 last week to go 40-2 on the season. Randy Moore and Riley Blevins both went 9-1 and Josh Woodward went 7-2. Here are this week's picks:

South Carolina at UCF: Steve Spurrier usually does well in the Sunshine State, and there's no reason to think this weekend will be any different. Gamecocks, 35-10

LSU at Georgia: John Chavis' youthful but talented Tiger defense will get quite a test from the Dawgs' potent offense. This should be a memorable game. Georgia, 34-31.

Ole Miss at Alabama: Ole Miss is building a great talent foundation but the Tide already has one. Bama, 35-21

Texas A&M at Arkansas: If the Hogs couldn't beat Rutgers I have serious doubts that they can beat the Aggies ... unless A&M is overconfident. Aggies, 38-24

Florida at Kentucky: This would be a whole lot more entertaining matchup if the teams were playing hoops. Gators, 34-17

UAB at Vanderbilt: This is the kind of opponent Vandy usually handles with relative ease. Commodores, 31-17

Arkansas State at Missouri: The Tigers get the nod, mostly on the home-field advantage. Missouri, 31-24

South Alabama at Tennessee: This is the closest thing to a sure win left on the Vol schedule. Tennessee had better not blow it. Vols, 34-14

South Carolina at UCF: Much easier road trip to Florida than what SEC are accustomed to. South Carolina, 27-7.

LSU at Georgia: Payback time for former Bulldogs quarterback Zach Mettenberger. LSU, 22-20.

Ole Miss at Alabama: Toughest game of the week. It'll be a dandy. Can A.J. McCarron get it done, yet again? Alabama, 20-18.

Texas A&M at Arkansas: Jim Chaney's offense likely doesn't have quite the personnel to run a scout-team duplication of the Heisman winner. Texas A&M, 41-27.

Florida at Kentucky: Good luck to the Wildcats offense. You're going to need it. Florida, 17-0.

UAB at Vanderbilt: The non-conference gauntlet the 'Dores are enduring continues. Will there be anything left for further league play? Vanderbilt, 23-12.

Arkansas State at Missouri: That Tigers defense gave up 23 to Toledo and 28 to Indiana. Curious to see if it improves. Missouri, 34-22.

South Alabama at Tennessee: This needs to be a statement game for the Vols before a daunting stretch of SEC games. Tennessee, 30-13.

South Carolina at UCF: Steve Spurrier and the Gamecocks could be tested early in this one. I see them pulling away in the end. 38-20 South Carolina

LSU at Georgia: This is what SEC football is about. Great match up with lots of talent on both sides. I like the home team in this game. 31-28 Bulldogs

Ole Miss at Alabama: If this game was at Oxford I would pick Ole Miss, but being in Alabama I just can't pick the upset. I do think it will be close though. 34-30 Crimson Tide

Texas A&M at Arkansas: The thing that scares me in this game is seeing the way Arkansas plays at home, but I like A&M in this game. 42-24 Aggies

Florida at Kentucky:This is a true let down game for Florida, but I think the new quarterback can energize this Florida team on the road. 33-10 Gators

UAB at Vanderbilt: Should be much to watch here. 34-10 Dores

Arkansas State at Missouri: I picked against Missouri last week and got burnt. Not happening this week. 48-20 Tigers

South Alabama at Tennessee:Tennessee is paying South Alabama $800,000 for this game, if you are paying someone 800,000 you better not lose. The bigger question is will Riley Ferguson play? I say yes. 34-13 Vols

South Carolina at UCF: Clowney and the Gamecocks hand UCF their first loss of the season. South Carolina 41, UCF 21.

LSU at Georgia: Les is best. The Mark Richt hot seat shenanigans will continue this week. LSU 28, Georgia 21.

Ole Miss at Alabama: Alabama finally finds its stride. Tide roll. Alabama 38, Ole Miss 20.

Texas A&M at Arkansas: A source tells me Johnny Manziel will score a lot of points and run for a lot of yards. Texas A&M 48, Arkansas 20.

Florida at Kentucky: The official Tyler Murphy Heisman campaign begins. Florida 41, Kentucky 17.

UAB at Vanderbilt: The ‘Dores won't need a miracle Matt Simms to Denarius Moore touchdown in overtime to win this one. Vanderbilt 31, UAB 14.

Arkansas State at Missouri: A tiger beats a red wolf in a fight nine times out of 10. Therefor, Mizzou wins. Tigers 35-24.

South Alabama at Tennessee: Scrambling quarterbacks and Tennessee don't mix. Luckily for the Vols, South Alabama doesn't have Florida's defense to trot out there. Vols win in a semi-close one. Tennessee 28, South Alabama 17.
