MARYVILLE, Tenn. — Late November doesn't just mean turkey sandwiches, the return of frigid temperatures and dormant Bermuda grass. It also signals the final rounds of the high-school postseason.

Led by a pair of Tennessee-offer holding juniors, Blackman and Maryville squared off in a TSSAA Class 6A state semifinal.

With Scout three-star defensive end Dylan Jackson leading its defense, Maryville came away victorious 28-16 over four-star athlete Jauan Jennings and the Blaze.

Holding down quarterback for the visitors, Jennings completed 8 of 24 passes for 127 yards with three interceptions (one by Jackson). He also ran for 95 yards, including a 3-yard touchdown.

Maryville (14-0) advances to play Hendersonville (11-3) in the 6A state championship on the campus of Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville on Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. CST.
