MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — In what was billed as the top regular season matchup in the Volunteer State for 2014, Blackman played host to No. 32-ranked Oakland on a viciously hot Sunday.
Jauan Jennings kept his cool, however, and the Tennessee commitment led the Blaze to a 28-21 win in a nationally televised contest versus their neighbors. He totaled 100 yards through the air on 6-of-10 passing and ran for 70 yards on 20 attempts.
Jennings threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Quen Hardy and ran for two more TDs (5, 20) and a two-point conversion.
The Blackman senior rates by Scout as a four-star prospect and the No. 16 safety in the nation. He pledged to the Volunteers back on April 7.
